Recent burglary and vehicle theft in Stanmore prompt police safety reminder

In their latest update, Belmont’s local policing team shared important reminders for residents to stay safe during the Bank Holiday weekend.

The message, sent out late on May 4 by PCSO Trisha Thomas-James, comes after recent crime statistics highlighted concerns in the area.

A burglary was reported on April 20, where intruders accessed a home through the rear garden on St Edmunds Drive in Stanmore at approximately 10:15pm.

In another incident, a vehicle theft occurred on Wetheral Drive, also in Stanmore, in the early hours of April 11.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and protect their properties by securing both homes and vehicles. The police advise keeping valuables out of sight and being cautious of strangers at the door.

For those seeking more detailed advice on crime prevention, resources are available on the Metropolitan Police website.
