Attempted robbery at The Hive in Edgware

An attempted robbery happened at The Hive in Edgware according to a post on the OWL website by PCSO Claire Orr.

A man was reportedly walking through The Hive Football Centre playing fields on Sunday, 12th May at 1:15pm was approached by two suspects who tried to snatch his phone. The man resisted and chased the suspects.

Both suspects are described as white, wearing all black clothing and distinctive yellow helmets.

One was riding a grey e-bike, while the other was on a regular bike. Despite checking CCTV footage, identifying the suspects has been challenging as they were wearing balaclavas.

PCSO Claire Orr advises residents to be cautious when using phones in public. Stay aware of your surroundings, especially if people on bikes or mopeds are nearby. If you feel unsafe, avoid using your phone. Once done, put it away.

If you must use your phone on the street, step back from the kerb and try to stand with your back against a wall or building to prevent thieves from approaching from behind. Also, be cautious if wearing ear pods or headphones.
