Harrow weekend travel update

Residents of Harrow and nearby areas should prepare for travel disruptions this weekend due to various ongoing works and events.

Transport for London (TfL) has outlined several key disruptions affecting London and local routes to the borough.

This weekend, from Saturday, May 18 to Sunday, May 19, there will be no service between Acton Town and Rayners Lane due to track work and infrastructure upgrades.

Commuters are advised to use the Central or Metropolitan lines for alternate routes between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge. Replacement buses will operate between Acton Town and Rayners Lane to facilitate travel during these disruptions.

On Saturday, May 18, the last train departing from Heathrow Terminal 5 at 00:07 will terminate earlier than usual at Ealing Broadway. This change is due to HS2 construction works at Old Oak Common.

On Sunday, May 19, services will be halted between Paddington and Heathrow Terminals 2 and 3 until 07:00, and no trains will run between Paddington and Ealing Broadway until 07:45.

A reduced service will also be in effect between Paddington and destinations like Maidenhead and Heathrow Terminal 4. Passengers traveling to Iver should consider using Reading-bound trains instead.

Further disruptions will continue into the next week, from Monday, May 20 to Wednesday, May 22. A reduced service will operate between Ealing Broadway and Maidenhead/Heathrow Terminal 4 after 22:00 each evening.

Key stops like Acton Main Line, West Ealing, and Hanwell will not be served after 23:00. Alternate local bus routes such as E7, E11, and 207 for West Ealing, and 207 and SL8 for Hanwell are recommended.

Road closures and potential are also expected due to external events happening in London.

Duncannon Street near Trafalgar Square will be closed from 07:00 until 21:00 on Saturday, May 18, due to a political event expected to draw large crowds.

Wembley Stadium will also host the League One Play Off Final football match between Bolton Wanderers and Oxford United on the same day, affecting traffic from 11:00 until 20:00 with kickoff at 16:15.

For real-time updates and further information,  people should consult the TfL website.
