The Euros is one of the UK’s most eagerly anticipated sports tournaments and one which is watched by a whopping 365 million people around the world.
Most of us aren’t lucky enough to get tickets to attend matches but Harrow has plenty of options for those who want to watch at home or away in one of our borough’s great venues and we’re looking at some of these in this article.
Kicking back and enjoying the games
The Euros is an annual football tournament in which 24 teams compete for the trophy. The event runs between the 14th of June and the 14th of July.
The pubs
As you would expect, The Euros will be aired in many of Harrow’s pubs, including:
The Junction
A favourite with football fans, The Junction on Gayton Road will be showing the Euros live and in HD. As a bonus, the pub has a great and reasonably priced menu for those looking for a snack or a spot of lunch during the games. The matches will also be broadcast in The Junction’s beer garden.
The Castle
Harrow on the Hill favourite, The Castle will be showing all matches for the Euros 2024 – and booking a table is advised as the pub does get busy.
The Whittington
Popular with Pinner locals, The Whittington prides itself on its sports coverage and, as such, will be showing all matches throughout the Euros.
The Star
Just opposite South Harrow Station, The Star is a large, airy pub serving reasonably priced drinks and food and, next month, they’ll also be serving up The Euros for footie mad customers.
The big screens
If you’re not a fan of pubs, several places in and around London will be showing the games outdoors on giant screens – although there hasn’t yet been confirmation that Harrow will be doing the same, we’ll be keeping an eye on St. Ann’s Road where big sporting events are sometimes aired.
Netting a great deal
Wherever you decide to watch – and whatever team you’ll be supporting, The Euros is a great opportunity to socialise while enjoying our favourite sport. If you’re planning to watch the games in a pub, it’s worth signing up to a couple as many will have special offers on closer to the start of the Euros.
