Review: Harrow on the Hill’s tapas restaurant and bar

First opened in 2018, Eighty Six occupies a coveted corner building on Harrow on the Hill with a distinctive curved front window.

Owned by Massih Mirzai, the restaurant offers a range of European dishes including tapas as well as a wide range of drinks including beers, wines and cocktails.

The restaurant offers seating options in the front bar, the restaurant at the rear and in an outdoor courtyard (although this was closed during our visit). We took a table at the front by the window which floods the space with lots of natural light as the rear restaurant appears a little gloomy in comparison.

Inside Eighty Six

We decided to order from the tapas menu (Eighty Six also offers standards such as burgers and pizzas) and went for the paella and the meatballs. The food is freshly cooked and excellent and the tapas portions are very generous. My husband had a beer and I had a glass of the house white wine and our total bill came to just over £35 Making it really good value for money.

The staff at Eighty Six are friendly and extremely attentive and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and informal. The toilet facilities are basic but clean and functional.

Food and drink.

On previous visits, we elected to sit outside in the courtyard however this is not ideal for disabled customers as it is accessed by a metal staircase.

The Eighty Six restaurant is an absolute gem – and extremely reasonably priced in comparison to some of its neighbours. Well worth a visit, particularly during the summer months.
