Man charged with multiple shoplifting offences in South Oxhey

A man has been charged with more than 35 shoplifting offences in South Oxhey

Blaize Wiltshire, 38, of South Oxhey in Watford, was arrested on Monday (20 May) and charged with the following:

He was charged with 37 thefts, including 32 from the Co-op, 2 from Lidl, 2 from Tesco, and one from a motor vehicle, as well as one count of common assault. The total value of the stolen items was approximately £1,000. These offences occurred between February and May of this year.

He was charged having been arrested following a joint effort between the Oxhey Neighbourhood Policing Team, Intervention and Local Crime Unit,

Wiltshire appeared at Hatfield Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday (21 May) where he was remanded into custody ahead of his next court date on Friday 14 June.

Local Crime Unit Detective Sergeant Stuart Keene, said: “I hope news of this charging decision reassures the local community that we will always take action against shoplifters.

“Shoplifting can often be associated with other criminality so we are keen to do all we can to stamp it out.

“We will continue to support local shops and businesses and would urge them to continue to contact us if an offence is taking place so we can attend and take swift action.”
