Man arrested for illegal advertising in Harrow Town Centre

In a continued effort to combat illegal activities, local Greenhill Safer Neighbourhood Officers, as part of ‘Operation Nightingale,’ have arrested a man for distributing illegal advertising cards promoting prostitution.

Sergeant Johnson, who led the patrol, observed the individual placing cards in various locations, including billboards and mobile telephone boxes. The issue of advertising prostitution has been a persistent problem, drawing concern from the Harrow Council, local community, and the Safer Neighbourhood Team.

Upon detaining the man, officers discovered a significant number of these illicit cards. The suspect confessed to using and distributing the cards not only in Harrow Town Centre but also in Central London.

Given his history of similar offences, the man was swiftly remanded to court the following day. The court sentenced him to a community order, with 300 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months.

The Greenhill Safer Neighbourhood Team continues to work diligently to address public safety concerns in Harrow Town Centre, focusing on retail theft, youth violence, and crimes against women and girls.
