Northwick Park Hospital unaffected by cyber-attack, other London hospitals declare critical incident

Northwick Park Hospital has not been impacted by the cyber-attack affecting major hospitals in London. The hospital, managed by London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, continues to operate normally without any disruptions. Other hospitals under the same trust, including Ealing Hospital and Central Middlesex, have also remained unaffected.

In contrast, several major hospitals across London have declared a critical incident due to the cyber-attack. The incident has resulted in the cancellation of operations and the diversion of emergency patients to other facilities. This disruption primarily affects hospitals partnered with Synnovis, a provider of pathology services.

Among the hospitals impacted are King’s College Hospital, Guy’s and St Thomas’, the Royal Brompton, and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Primary care services associated with these hospitals are also experiencing significant disruptions. The cyber-attack has had a “major impact” on the delivery of essential services, particularly blood transfusions and the processing of test results.

While these affected hospitals work to resolve the issues caused by the cyber-attack, Northwick Park Hospital and its counterparts under the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust continue to provide care without interruption.
