Person dies at Watford Junction station

A person has died following an incident at Watford Junction railway station this morning, June 5.

The incident occurred shortly before 6am, with emergency services seen rushing to the station. Sadly, the person was pronounced dead.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called just after 6am this morning with reports that a person had been hit by a train near Watford Junction railway station.

“An ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene. Sadly the person was pronounced dead at the scene.”

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said, “Officers were called to the line near Watford Junction railway station at 6.04am today (5 June) to reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
