Camrose Avenue in Queensbury closed off by police after collision

Camrose Avenue in Queensbury has been closed between Turner Road and Shaldon Road following a road traffic collision (RTC).

The incident occurred this afternoon, Sunday 9 June, at around 2:30pm, and emergency services currently remain at the scene.

A spokesperson for Met Police said, “Police were called at around 14:00hrs on Sunday, 9 June, to a collision between two cars in Camrose Avenue, Queensbury.

“Two people from one of the cars were taken to hospital – conditions assessed as not life-threatening.

“The driver of the other car has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences, including driving while under the influence of excessive alcohol. He was also taken to hospital as a precaution but is now in custody at a London police station.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 2.40pm on Sunday 9 June to reports of a road traffic collision on Camrose Avenue, Edgware.

“We sent ambulance crews and a paramedic in a fast response car to the scene.

“We treated two people at the scene. We took one patient to a major trauma centre and the other patient to hospital.”
