Harrow’s calendar is already brimming with exciting events, from the historic Pinner Fair in May to the massive Harrow Fireworks in November.
Though we bid a fond farewell to the Pinner Panto in 2022, there remains an array of festivities such as the Christmas and Diwali celebrations in Harrow Town Centre and May Day at Headstone Manor- to name just a few.
So, what could we possibly add to our calendar to bring more offerings to our community? Here are a few cheeky suggestions that could make Harrow’s event calendar shine even brighter:
Harrow Harvest Festival
Imagine a day dedicated to celebrating the bounty of autumn!! A harvest festival could feature local produce markets, pumpkin carving contests, and cooking demonstrations. It’s a great way for families to enjoy the crisp fall air while supporting local farmers and artisans.
Why it’s good for the community: It promotes local agriculture, encourages healthy eating, and provides a fantastic opportunity for community members to come together and celebrate the season’s harvest.
Pinner Poetry Slam
With the famous history and cultural tapestry of Harrow, why not introduce a poetry slam? This event could invite poets of all ages to perform their works, compete for prizes, and share their love for the written word.
Why it’s good for the community: It fosters creativity, provides a platform for expression, and can be an excellent way for residents to connect over shared experiences and emotions.

Harrow Historical Reenactment Day
Harrow is steeped in history, and what better way to celebrate it than a day of historical reenactments? Featuring battles, market scenes, and traditional crafts, this event could transport visitors back in time.
Why it’s good for the community: It’s educational, fun, and a unique way to learn about the local history and heritage. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of time travel without the DeLorean?
Community Talent Show
From budding musicians to stand-up comedians, a community talent show could be a hit! This event would give locals a chance to showcase their talents and entertain their neighbors.
Why it’s good for the community: It encourages participation, boosts confidence, and is a fantastic way for people to discover the hidden talents within their community.
Outdoor Movie Nights
During the warmer months, setting up an outdoor cinema in one of Harrow’s lovely parks could be a delightful addition. Families could bring picnic blankets and enjoy classic films under the stars. Events like this have taken place in Harrow Rec in the past.m, but with so many award-winning open spaces, this would be a great showcase.
Why it’s good for the community: It’s a fun and relaxed way to spend an evening, and it fosters a sense of togetherness. Plus, there’s something magical about watching a movie outdoors!

Eco-Fair and Sustainability Workshops
Given the growing concern for our environment, an eco-fair could feature stalls with sustainable products, workshops on composting and recycling, and fun activities like a clothes swap or upcycling crafts.
Why it’s good for the community: It raises awareness about environmental issues, provides practical solutions for living more sustainably, and brings people together over a common cause.
While Harrow’s calendar is already packed with wonderful events, there’s always room for a bit more fun and festivity!
So, here’s to hoping we see some of these delightful suggestions come to life in the near future!
