Harrow Council has released a statement addressing rumours about a potential anti-immigration protest in Harrow scheduled for Wednesday night.
The announcement comes amidst a tense atmosphere following recent incidents, including the tragic killing of three girls in a knife attack last Tuesday, which has ignited a series of violent protests across various UK towns and cities.
The council’s statement read, “We are aware of social media posts and WhatsApp messages being shared which claim that a protest is being held in Harrow on Wednesday. We are working with the police to verify whether a protest is taking place and if there is we will prioritise the safety of Harrow’s communities in our response.”

Also commenting on the situation, the Harrow Labour Party posted, “It’s been reported that protestors have identified Harrow as a target for a demonstration on Wednesday night at 8pm. The council has been informed and are liaising with police. Updates to follow.”
These events are part of a larger wave of unrest that has seen clashes between anti-immigration demonstrators and counter-protesters, leading to injuries among police officers and numerous arrests.
The government has responded with plans for an emergency meeting today to tackle the violence and unrest that has spread throughout the country.
