In response to recent rumours regarding planned demonstrations in Harrow, the Harrow Labour group has issued an official statement addressing the concerns of local residents.
The statement comes amidst reports of protests occurring nationwide, some of which have reportedly resulted in unrest and disruption. Harrow Labour has stressed the importance of maintaining peace and order within the borough.
Below is the full statement released by the Labour group of Councillors concerning the potential demonstrations in Harrow:
“This past week has seen a number of unacceptable protests take place across the country which have threatened the safety and stability of communities.
“We would like to thank the countless individuals who have not participated in these events, and unequivocally condemn those who have sought to bring intimidation and criminal damage to our streets.
“Harrow is proud of its diverse community, and we would like to make clear that intolerance of any description has no place in Harrow.
“While we have not seen disruption on our local streets, we are working closely with the Metropolitan Police and Harrow Council to monitor any possibility of future disruptive activity in the area.
“If anyone has any concerns, please contact the Harrow Labour Group Office or your individual ward councillor.”
