There’s a police presence and cordons at Cheat Meals in Rayners Lane following a robbery that took place in the early hours of this morning.
Images and footage sent to Harrow Online show a police car outside the shop and the area cordoned off after a vehicle was driven into the shop before the robbery.
The incident is believed to just be the burglary of a commercial premises, and there is no indication that this is anything to do with any of the protests that had been allegedly scheduled to take place in Harrow yesterday.
A spokesperson for Met Police said, “At approximately 04.40hrs on Thursday 8th August, a dark coloured BMW was driven through the front window of a fast food outlet on Rayners Lane, Harrow.
“The sole occupant of the BMW was then seen to exit the vehicle and steal a cash register from inside the premises, before re-entering the vehicle and driving away in the direction of Harrow View and Long Elms.
“There have been no arrests, and enquiries are ongoing.
“Anyone with any information, or who may have witnessed the incident or the vehicle being driven away, is asked to call 101 quoting crime ref. 01/690920/.”
