Harrow’s own London Assembly Member, Susan Hall, has publicly criticised Prime Minister Keir Starmer for his silence on the recent violence at the Notting Hill Carnival 2024.
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Hall, Harrow, expressed her disbelief that Starmer has “said nothing about the violence at Notting Hill Carnival 2024,” emphasising that the event saw “people stabbed, emergency workers assaulted, firearms and knives found.”
The latest police reports from the carnival revealed that 61 officers were assaulted, eight people were stabbed, and 349 arrests were made over the weekend. Several victims remain in critical condition including a mother stat was stabbed in front of her child.
Hall, who is a councillor in Hatch End and a former leader of Harrow Council didn’t hold back, stating that Starmer “absolutely deserves the label #TwoTierKier.”
She also directed her criticism at Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, accusing him of ignoring the violence despite frequently commenting on other issues, noting that he is “happy to comment on everything else but obviously not something on his own doorstep.”
