Police in Harrow had a busy day yesterday, attending a high-profile court case, chasing down a wanted suspect, and making a significant arrest in a child abuse investigation.
In the first incident, officers from Harrow attended a plea hearing at the Old Bailey for a defendant who escaped lawful custody and assaulted a police officer earlier this year. The individual pleaded not guilty, and the trial is set to take place in August 2025.
Later in the day, while on mobile patrols around Greenhill which covers Harrow Town Centre, officers spotted a wanted male riding a bicycle. The suspect attempted to flee, leading to a foot chase through Marlborough ward.
After a determined effort by officers, the individual was apprehended and charged with two breaches of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), failing to appear in court, and vehicle interference. He was remanded in custody following the arrest.
In a separate operation, police carried out an arrest enquiry at a local property in connection with serious sexual offences. The Child Abuse Investigation Team (CAIT) coordinated the enquiry, and once officers entered the property, the suspect was arrested without incident.
