The Headteacher of Grange Primary School in South Harrow, Mr. Kerbel, has announced a major fundraising effort, setting himself the challenge of running 500 miles over three months to raise £10,000 for the school.
The money raised will support extended learning opportunities for the students, including educational trips and workshops.
According to the school’s Go Fund Me page, Mr. Kerbel will run to school every day during the Autumn term, covering 500 miles by the end of the year. The funds raised will help cover trips such as a Year 3 visit to Verulamium Museum, a Year 5 trip to Hampton Court Palace, and a STEM project for students across Years 1-6.
Reception students are also set to benefit from workshops and a beach trip, while a Rock Kidz Workshop is planned for all students from Reception to Year 6.

This is not the first time Mr. Kerbel has gone above and beyond for the school. Last year, he took on a unique challenge to support a fundraising campaign at Grange Primary School by walking 43 km over four days, simulating a ‘virtual’ trek along the Inca Trail.
The campaign aimed to introduce virtual reality (VR) workshops into the curriculum, giving students in Years 3-5 immersive learning opportunities to explore Ancient Rome, the Mayan Civilisation, and the Oceans & Seas. His efforts helped successfully fund these innovative workshops, enriching the students’ educational experience.
With a total goal of £10,000, the school will book these new trips and workshops as donations come in. Regular updates will be posted by Grand Primary School to keep the community informed of the progress and how contributions are impacting the students’ experiences.
To support the campaign, donations can be made through the school’s Go Fund Me page.
