Apples have been stolen from the community orchard at Headstone Manor Recreation Ground in Harrow. The incident was highlighted by the Friends of Headstone Manor Park, who shared their frustration on social media.
In their post, they said, “We are very shocked to find that someone has stolen most of the (unripe) apples from the Headstone Manor Park Community Orchard.
“We had hoped to have a community fun day when families could pick the fruit and perhaps make fruit juices but this won’t be possible now.”
The group added, “Same happened here both this year and last. Branches stripped bare.”
Residents also expressed their disappointment in the comments. One person wrote, “That is awful. I saw them on Monday lunchtime while walking through.” Another added, “What a shame. Sorry to hear this.”
The theft has left the community without the opportunity to enjoy the orchard’s harvest this year.
