Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to tackle a fire at a derelict building on Queensbury Road in Wembley last night.
The blaze, which broke out in a single-storey derelict structure, completely destroyed the building. Fortunately, there were no reports of any injuries.
Firefighters took precautions by removing and cooling two gas cylinders to an ambient temperature, as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said, “The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers received a call to this incident at 2020 and mobilised crews from Wembley, Acton, Ealing and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.”
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental and is currently under investigation.
