Harrow Council announced tonight, Thursday October 10, that the Navratri event at Kenton Cricket Club has been cancelled after numerous complaints from local residents.
The council shared the update on their social media channels, providing details of the situation and the decision made by the event organisers.
In a statement, Harrow Council said: “We know that many of our Hindu residents are celebrating Navratri which ends this weekend. For those celebrating, we hope you are enjoying this special ten day event with friends and loved ones.
“We have been notified of a Navratri event running at Kenton Cricket Club. The owners of the site have contacted us of their decision to cancel the event tonight following a large of number of complaints from local residents which has also been received by the council.
“If you have bought tickets for tonight or any of the remaining dates until 12 October, please do not turn up to the event and contact the event organiser for refunds.”
The decision to cancel the event came after several residents raised concerns about the noise and disruptions through various channels, including the Harrow Online Facebook group.
Many residents voiced their frustrations about the event’s impact on the surrounding community prior to the council’s announcement.
For those seeking more information about refunds, the council advises contacting the event organisers directly.
