Former matron and sprint queen Rose Amankwaah has won her second award this year, adding to an already distinguished career.
Rose, who lives in Kenton, was honoured at the NHS Parliamentary Awards, where she was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by NHS England Chief Executive Amanda Pritchard.
Having served nearly 50 years at Central Middlesex Hospital, Rose has become well-known for her dedication and professionalism. She was once dubbed the fastest nurse on two legs due to her speed and agility on the ward, a testament to her energy throughout her career.
Her local MP nominated her for the award, recognising her long-standing contributions to healthcare in the community. This latest accolade follows another award earlier this year, further solidifying her place as a respected figure in the NHS.
