Winterfest will return to Watford Town Centre on Saturday, 23 November, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, providing a free day of Christmas entertainment. The event will include funfair rides, Christmas activities, food and drink stalls, a parade, live street performances, and a visit from Santa Claus himself!
The event will take place mainly on The Parade, offering rides and activities for all ages. Attractions include a rodeo reindeer, giant snow globe, Christmas carousel, snowboard simulator, and penguin skittles, with all funfair rides free for attendees. Alongside a Christmas-themed Watford market, there will be food, drink, and community stalls, as well as special guests and live performances.
The Winterfest parade will begin at 4pm outside McDonald’s on the lower high street, featuring a marching band, costume characters, community groups, and Santa Claus on his sleigh. The parade will move through Watford Town Centre, finishing at the pond on The Parade.

Watford Town Centre BID has funded the event and the town’s LED Christmas light installations for the sixth year, with support from Watford Borough Council. The lights will be switched on at 4:30pm after the parade and will remain on until January 2025.
Kara Mesiano, BID Manager of Watford Town Centre, said: “We are delighted to once again be delivering a festive event to mark the beginning of a busy Christmas period. We know how tough times are for many local families, which is why we wanted to host a spectacular event that is completely free to attend, with activities and rides that are free to enjoy.
Huge credit goes to our BID businesses for funding another thrilling and dynamic event in our town for the benefit of residents and visitors. We encourage all attendees to enjoy a full day out in Watford Town Centre; do some Christmas shopping, enjoy a coffee, experience Winterfest, book a lovely evening meal and go for a celebratory drink afterwards!”
