A man caused damage and allegedly threatened the public at St Ann’s Shopping Centre in Harrow on Monday, October 21.
He reportedly threw a glass bottle and used a hammer to break the glass panels of the entrance doors.
The incident happened shortly before lunchtime in front of shoppers at the store. One member of the Harrow Online Group on Facebook said, “Nice to see lots of police on the beat in the town today. Shame it seems to be in response to someone smashing windows along St Ann’s.”
A spokesperson for Met Police said, “At approximately 11.45am on Monday 21th October a male was witnessed behaving aggressively outside of St Ann’s shopping centre in Harrow. The male has then entered the shopping centre, before picking up a glass bottle and throwing it at a nearby shopfront.
“He has then threatened members of the public before producing a hammer and smashing the glass panels of the main entrance doors to the centre.

“The male has then made off on foot in an unknown direction, prior to police arrival. The suspect was described as an eastern European male, 20-30 years old, wearing a dark hooded jumper, blue jeans and a dark coloured backpack.
“Witnesses to the incident are asked to call 101, quoting Crime reference no. 01/986893/24.”
