St George’s Shopping Centre in Harrow Town Centre is calling on the community to donate new, unused toys to support children staying on the children’s ward at Northwick Park Hospital. The ‘Donation Station’ initiative, which saw success in 2023, is back for another year.
Last year, 188 toys were collected, providing support for young patients at Jack’s Place. The toys were used for play sessions, distractions, gifts, and more, creating a welcoming environment.
St George’s Centre Manager said, “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Jack’s Place and to offer our community another opportunity to make a difference in the lives of local children. The generosity shown by our visitors last year was truly inspiring, and we hope to see even more support this time around.”
The Donation Station will be at St George’s Shopping Centre throughout November 2024, with a designated drop-off point.

Gail Manning, Registered Health Play Specialist for Jack’s Place, said, “As a play team we were overwhelmed and delighted. The toys enable us to support so many children through their hospital experience.
“Being in hospital is scary and many children struggle, and being able to play is so important as it helps them cope and reduces anxiety. The toys donated will be used for play sessions, distractions, gifts and so much more.”
By donating, the community can help make a hospital stay brighter for a child.
