Customers using the London Overground will now find it easier to navigate the network as Transport for London (TfL) introduces individual line names and colours for the first time. The Lioness Line, part of this initiative, runs through Harrow and includes the stations Kenton, Harrow and Wealdstone, Headstone Lane, and Hatch End.
The rollout began on 20 November, with TfL updating signage at a small number of stations. The majority of updates will follow from 25 November. Andy Lord, London’s Transport Commissioner, said: “This is an exciting step as millions of customer journeys on the London Overground will be transformed by making it simpler to navigate.”
This project follows months of engagement with customers and stakeholders to prepare for the changes. TfL is updating approximately 6,000 station wayfinding signs, maps, digital screens, onboard train information, and audiovisual announcements. The updates will be completed in phases, with digital platforms fully updated by mid-December and Class 710 train audiovisual systems by January 2025.

The Lioness Line runs from Watford Junction to Euston and is represented by the colour yellow. Other new line names include Mildmay, Windrush, Weaver, Suffragette, and Liberty, each celebrating London’s diverse culture and history.
As part of the introduction, TfL has launched a series of podcasts and self-guided walking tours to explore the stories behind the line names, encouraging greater familiarity with the changes.
The rollout is one of TfL’s largest customer-focused projects, aimed at improving navigation and customer confidence across the network.
