A new Perinatal Hub has opened at the former police station in Wealdstone, offering support for new mothers and fathers. The space, created by Blossom, is designed to provide a calm and welcoming environment for parents taking their first steps into parenthood.
The hub, based on High Street, Wealdstone, offers workshops, drop-in sessions, and classes to help new parents grow their confidence and skills. It also aims to foster connection and provide a space for shared stories, offering support and reassurance to families.

In addition to the hub, Blossom has launched a Baby Bank, providing essential items for babies and young children. Working through a referral system with midwives, health visitors, and social workers, the Baby Bank supplies items such as nappies, baby clothes, prams, and cots to families in need.
Blossom’s Baby Bank is intended to alleviate the financial burden on parents and caregivers, ensuring they can focus on caring for their children.
Another new initiative, Optivita Early Years, will pilot services in South Harrow with funding from NHS England. This programme aims to improve life chances for children under five in disadvantaged areas by offering early interventions, reducing inequalities, and promoting health and wellbeing.

Gareth Thomas, MP for Harrow West, said: “It is wonderful to see a new community asset for mothers and fathers in Harrow! I know this would have been such a great help to my own family as we started our parenting journey, and I hope it becomes a thriving social hub, offering invaluable classes and workshops for years to come.”
Cllr Kandy Dolor, Wealdstone South ward, added: “As a new mother, I’m delighted to see this new Baby Bank opening up in Wealdstone. We are so fortunate to have Blossom and I’m really looking forward to bringing my young one here!”
