A man has claimed that he was threatened with a firearm when he visited an address in South Harrow to collect kittens that had been advertised online.
The incident is alleged to be a scam aimed at extorting money from victims.
A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: “Police attended reports of a man being threatened with a firearm at an address on Stanley Road, Harrow at 20:58hrs on Thursday, 16 January.
“Officers recovered two firearms at the scene and arrested a 56-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman for possessing an air weapon or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. They remain in custody.
“No one was injured in the incident. The case is now under investigation.”
The suspects remain in police custody while investigations continue.
