Radio Harrow has been shortlisted for three awards at this year’s Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA) Awards. The annual ceremony recognises exceptional work from hospital and community radio stations across the UK.
Radio Harrow is a volunteer-run charity radio station. It provides a mix of entertainment, health, and wellbeing content aimed at the local community, including Harrow, Brent, and Ealing. Originally starting as a hospital radio service, it has grown to offer both hospital and community-based programming, promoting health awareness and connecting people through music, interviews, and local news
Antonia Vlad, a presenter on the station’s Saturday Brunch show, has been named a finalist in the Best Newcomer category.
A special programme celebrating the life of Brian Rose, a former colleague and friend, has been nominated in the Best Event category.
Additionally, a promo for the North West London Wellbeing Challenge campaign, aimed at encouraging good wellbeing habits, has been shortlisted for Best Station Promotion.
Radio Harrow’s Vice-Chair and Programming Manager, Andrew Bottcher, said: “I’m extremely proud that we have had three nominations for the Hospital Broadcasting Association awards, this year.
“Radio Harrow is home of great quality entertainment for Harrow, Brent and Ealing and I’m so glad that we have been recognised for the amazing work we do. Congratulations to all our nominees.”
The awards ceremony will take place in April during the HBA’s annual conference in Leicestershire.
