A man has been taken to a major trauma centre after a fire broke out in Sudbury last night, Sunday, February 16.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said, “Three fire engines and around 15 firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a block of flats on Gauntlett Court in Wembley.
“A small part of a flat on the second floor was damaged by the fire. One man was rescued from the building by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
“Control Officers took the call at 1819 and mobilised crews from Wembley and Northolt fire stations to the scene.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.”
Members of Harrow Online Group on Facebook reported a number of emergency services vehicles just past the Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow (leading to Wembley) at around 7:30pm last night.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 6.20pm on Sunday 16 February to reports of a fire at Gauntlett Court, Wembley.
“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and members of our hazardous area response team (HART). We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre.”
