Around 1,000 people gathered in Queensbury to celebrate India’s victory in the Champions Trophy final in Dubai.
Fans took to the streets on Queensbury Circle, setting off smoke bombs and playing drums as they marked the team’s four-wicket win over New Zealand.
The atmosphere was electric, with supporters waving flags and cheering after India secured the title for a record third time.
Many had followed the match closely, which saw India chase down New Zealand’s total of 251-7 with an over to spare.
Rohit Sharma led the charge with 76 runs, while KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja guided the team home in the final moments.
Celebrations in Queensbury are expected to go on late into the evening.
The victory cements India’s position as a dominant force in international cricket, having now won both the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy since finishing as runners-up in the 2023 World Cup.
