A public engagement event will take place this Saturday, 22 March, at Katie’s Statue on Station Road in Harrow Town Centre, giving residents the opportunity to view designs and learn more about plans for a new neighbourhood in the heart of Harrow.
The development, called Poets’ Corner, is set to bring more than 1,000 new apartments to the area, including council homes. The plans also feature a large new park with green-flag status and a central community square designed to create open spaces for both new and existing residents to enjoy.
The project is a partnership between Harrow Council and Wates Residential, aiming to transform the former council civic centre headquarters on Station Road into a “thriving, sustainable community.” The first phase is expected to include more than 100 new council homes, with the potential to double that number, subject to funding.
Cllr Marilyn Ashton, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Planning & Regeneration, said: “Poets’ Corner represents a major step forward in our vision for a revitalised Harrow. This development will provide much-needed genuinely affordable homes for Harrow including new council homes, beautiful green spaces, and improved local infrastructure to benefit current and future residents.”

The location is just next to Harrow & Wealdstone station and is well connected by public transport, with five bus routes and direct rail links to central London. The new plans also include “improved walking and cycling routes”.
The public engagement event will take place from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, 22 March, at Katie’s Statue, Station Road, HA1 1LF. Visitors will be able to view the designs, speak with the project team, and take part in free children’s craft activities.
