Residents in Hillingdon should expect some changes to the way their bins are collected in the coming days. With the Easter bank holiday weekend approaching, bins will be collected on different dates to those we are used to throughout the year.
While the double bank holiday should make for an extra few days off work to relax, it’s important to make sure we aren’t left blindsided with overflowing bins due to changes in collection dates.
These changes allow for councils to work around the bank holidays whilst allowing employees some well earned rest over the extended weekend. Hillingdon Council have announced the following changes to the usual schedule:
- Bin collections on Friday, April 18 (Good Friday), will instead be collected on Saturday, April 19
- Bin collections on Monday, April 21 (Easter Monday), will instead be collected on Tuesday, April 22
- Bin collections on Tuesday, April 22, will instead be collected on Wednesday, April 23
- Bin collections on Wednesday, April 23, will instead be collected on Thursday, April 24
- Bin collections on Thursday, April 24, will instead be collected on Friday, April 25
- Bin collections on Friday, April 25, will instead be collected on Saturday, April 26
Hillingdon Council has asked residents to ensure rubbish is left out near the front gate, not on the pavement, by 6am on collection day. Nearby Ealing Council has announced that there will be no changes to the bin collection schedule over Easter.
