West Harrow ward is seeing the benefits of consistent police presence and community engagement, according to an update from Harrow MPS.
Local police say regular patrols and community events are strengthening trust between officers and residents. The approach combines proactive crime prevention with daily visibility in key areas, helping residents feel safer and more supported.
A statement from Harrow MPS said: “Residents have expressed their appreciation for this approach, many of whom have reported feeling safer, simply by seeing and talking to local police on a regular basis.”
Police presence in West Harrow has had a particular impact on elderly and vulnerable residents, with officers providing reassurance and visibility, especially for those who may have been affected by crime.

This week, South Harrow officers carried out patrols in priority areas, arresting three individuals for various offences and seizing quantities of Class B and C drugs. Police said it was “another clear example of Harrow Police being everywhere and tackling crime head-on.”
Beyond enforcement, officers are also focusing on community connection. PCSOs Neal and Nicholson recently hosted a family-friendly event at West Harrow Recreation Ground, where local children were invited to explore a police vehicle and meet officers. The event drew strong interest from families and highlighted the importance of humanising policing.
Harrow MPS said: “It’s not just about arrests, it’s about connections.”
Police say this is part of an ongoing effort to make policing more approachable and effective through a visible and consistent presence. From regular patrols to direct community engagement, Harrow’s local policing teams are aiming to provide not just safety, but a sense of shared community.
