A taxi driver from Harrow is celebrating after winning two supercars worth £116,000 through an online competition – all for just 24p.
Cristian Dorobantu was left stunned when he was surprised at his home by the team from BOTB (Best of the Best), a company that runs weekly car competitions online.
Cristian, who lives in Harrow, stepped outside to find an Audi RS Q8 and a Mercedes C63S parked around the corner.
“No way! I cannot believe this,” he gasped. “I don’t know what to say. To win something like this for 24p, I thought it was impossible. This is amazing, and a dream come true.”
The Audi RS Q8 is a high-performance SUV coupe with a twin-turbo V8 engine and over 600bhp, while the Mercedes C63S is known for combining luxury with powerful performance.
Cristian was given the chance to sit in both vehicles and start the engines during the surprise reveal.
He plans to keep one of the cars and take the cash alternative for the other, using the money to help pay off the mortgage on his family home. He’s also considering gifting one of the vehicles to his wife.
BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: “Cristian’s reaction was priceless. When we walked him round the corner, and he saw both cars parked up, he just couldn’t believe it.
“It was great watching him sit in both – turning the engines over, taking in the interiors, revving them. You could tell he was loving every second.
“To win one of these cars would be incredible – to win both is just next level.”
BOTB was founded by William Hindmarch in 1999 and has since given away £92.6m-worth of cars. The company runs weekly dream car competitions and also offers lifestyle prizes including holidays, cash, tech and more through its Instant Wins Competition.
