A newly expanded JD Sports store is set to open at atria Watford this week, with a launch weekend featuring giveaways and live music.
The store, which has doubled in size, opens on Thursday 15 May. It will feature a wider range of popular brands including Nike, adidas, Jordan, New Balance, Hoodrich and Juicy Couture. The upgrade also includes self-service tills, updated displays, and a new store layout.
The launch event will take place over the weekend of 17–18 May, with a live DJ and a JD “roundel locker” activation offering Crep Protect products and gift cards. There will also be a customisation station where shoppers can personalise shoe accessories including laces, lace buckles and plates.

Simon Plumb, Centre Director at atria Watford, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome this next-level JD store to atria Watford. This incredible upsize is set to be a huge draw for existing and new shoppers alike and underlines our commitment to bringing exciting, high-quality retail experiences to the centre.”
James Air, Director, Head of Group Acquisitions at JD, added: “We’re excited to welcome shoppers to our new, bigger and better store at atria Watford. With an expanded product range, new tech features and an unforgettable launch weekend, this store is set to be a true destination for JD fans in the region.”
The announcement comes shortly after it was revealed that atria Watford is set to revert to its original name, the Harlequin.
