Wealdstone Safer neighbourhood officers have made it their goal to target prolific offenders.
Reports were made by local business owners that an individual had repeatedly stolen items from their stores. Wealdstone SNT took the investigation on and quickly sourced the CCTV allowing for officers to identify the suspect.
Officers focused their patrols on areas the suspect was known to frequent, while on foot patrol in Wealdstone High Street, officers located the suspect arresting him for shoplifting offences.
Due to the support of the local business the evidence police had was overwhelming, and as such the suspect was charged and remanded to court the next day.
Officers also submitted a Criminal Behaviour Order application to court with conditions to exclude the suspect from entering Wealdstone High Street. The application highlighted a person who had clearly shown disregard for the local business owners of Wealdstone.
On the 9th of May 2025 the suspect was found guilty and sentenced to 18 weeks imprisonment and issued a Criminal Behaviour that excludes him from entering Wealdstone High Street for 2 years.
Insp Graig Bradley said, “The NPT team for Wealdstone North and South will continue to work tirelessly to bring to justice those that blight the local area with their disregard for law and order.”
