A brand new Home Bargains store is officially opening in Watford this summer, with signage now confirming the launch date as Saturday 9th August 2025.
The store is taking over the site previously occupied by Sports Direct and David’s Bridal in Waterfields Way Retail Park – just next to Smyths.
Large posters now displayed outside the unit confirm not only the opening date but also state that the retailer is currently recruiting for staff, directing applicants to jobs.homebargains.co.uk.

The store is still under construction inside, with building and fit-out work clearly underway — but all signs point to a summer opening as scheduled.
Home Bargains, which already has over 600 stores across the UK, has been a highly requested addition to the area by local shoppers.
The Watford branch will offer another convenient shopping destination for Harrow residents, with the location just around 15 minutes’ drive from most parts of the borough.

Keep an eye on Harrow Online for further updates as we get closer to opening day.
