A Chinese restaurant in Bushey Heath has made a remarkable turnaround after being previously handed a low food hygiene score earlier this year.
Chikayan Chinese Restaurant, located at 27–29 High Road, Bushey has now been awarded a rating of 5 out of 5 following a reinspection by environmental health officers on 22 May 2025—the highest rating possible.
Back in March, the restaurant received a rating of just 1 out of 5, but since then, significant improvements have clearly been made.
A spokesperson for Chikayan said, “This rating reflects the improvement made in food safely, cleanliness, and operational standards. We remain committed to maintaining the highest hygiene practices and ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience for our customers.”.
The updated hygiene score is now visible on the official Food Standards Agency website.
