A fly-tipper caught red-handed dumping rubbish on a residential street in Harrow Weald has been fined £1,000 — and paid the penalty in full.
The incident happened on Weighton Road, where the individual was captured on camera disposing of household waste next to communal bins.
A Harrow Council spokesperson posted on social media: “Friday Fun-Day? Not for this fly-tipper! Caught red-handed on Weighton Road and slapped with a £1,000 fine – paid in full.
“Our officers don’t mess about. Dump rubbish on our streets, and you’ll pay the price.”
The case is the latest in a string of fly-tipping incidents to be featured on Harrow Council’s ongoing ‘Wall of Shame’ campaign, which aims to clamp down on illegal dumping and encourage residents to report offenders.
The council added: “We’ve expanded our enforcement team this year and taking tougher action. It’s a key Flagship Action to keep our borough clean. If you see a fly-tip report it so they can investigate, find and fine those responsible.”
