Police are investigating an alleged racially aggravated assault after three young men were injured in a ‘violent’ attack at Harrow Recreation Ground last week.
The incident happened on Friday, 30 May, at around 6:00pm. According to a family member of one of the victims, a group of men in their mid-to-late 20s allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on her brother and his two friends, all aged 20.
Speaking to Harrow Online, the victim’s sister said: “My brother and two of his friends… were brutally attacked by a group of older men at Harrow Recreation Ground. The assault was extremely violent – two of the boys were left unconscious, and all three sustained serious injuries.”
She also claimed that before the attack began, the suspects allegedly asked the victims about their ethnicity. “Which has made this into a serious racial aggravated crime,” she said.
She added: “We are urgently looking for anyone who may have seen something—even a small detail can help support the police investigation.”
The suspects were described as being in their mid-to-late 20s, tall, with light brown skin. One of them reportedly had long hair and a beard.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told Harrow Online: “On Friday, 30 May at 18:11hrs police were called to reports of fight between several men at Harrow Recreation Ground.
“Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated three men at the scene. A 20-year-old man was transported to hospital by paramedics after sustaining a head injury.
“Another 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man attended hospital themselves later that evening. No injuries are believed to be life-threatening or life changing.
“No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 6445/30MAY25.”
Anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious is urged to come forward.
