Sash Hamidi, CEO of The Pegasus Partnership Trust and a prominent Harrow educator, co-hosted a live national webinar this evening with Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson.
The event, held at The Welldon Park Academy in South Harrow, was part of the Department for Education’s continued engagement with primary school leaders. It focused on the government’s Opportunity Mission – one year after its implementation.
Before the live session, the Secretary of State toured the school and spoke directly with Welldon staff about their concerns. The webinar, broadcast from one of the school’s classrooms, brought together school leaders, teachers, and policymakers from across the country. The 45-minute session looked at the progress of the Opportunity Mission so far and discussed current challenges in primary education and the government’s future plans.
As Executive Headteacher at both Priestmead Primary School and The Welldon Park Academy, and Headteacher at Glebe Primary School, Mr Hamidi offered practical insights from his experience running schools. He also spoke on behalf of other headteachers across Harrow and shared views from national conversations with CEOs of multi-academy trusts.

Raised and educated in Harrow – attending Priestmead, Park High, and what is now Harrow College – Mr Hamidi said he was proud to represent the borough on a national stage.
Sash Hamidi said: “It was a privilege to be asked to co-host this important discussion with Bridget Phillipson, who addressed a number of key questions on the priorities in the primary sector both nationally and relevant locally. It is encouraging to see how she is listening to and engaging with stakeholders from across the sector to shape how education can develop across the nation.”
The session was open to anyone who registered, and further resources from the event will be made available by the Department for Education in due course.
