A burst water pipe has closed Headstone Lane bridge today Tuesday 1st July, causing traffic delays and forcing buses to divert.
The leak is in the middle of the bridge, right by the entrance to Headstone Lane train station. Despite the flooding on the road, the station itself is still open to passengers.
One bus was spotted stuck and unable to turn around, while other services have been rerouted due to the closure.
Affinity Water is now organising repairs, but there’s no confirmed timeline yet for when the bridge will reopen.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area if they can.
A spokesperson for Affinity Water said, “Affinity Water can confirm that emergency works are taking place on Headstone Lane, Harrow, due to a burst water main. The road is currently closed while repairs are carried out.
“Updates are available on one.network: https://one.network/?GB144248501
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank residents and road users for their patience while we carry out these essential works.”
