Street drinker handed five-year order banning alcohol in public in Harrow

A well-known local street drinker has been banned from drinking alcohol in public across Harrow for the next five years.

On 28 June 2025, officers from the Stanmore and Belmont Local Policing Teams attended Willesden Magistrates’ Court to apply for a Criminal Behaviour Order. Their efforts led to the court granting the order with strict conditions.

The individual must not be in a state of drunkenness in any public place in the London Borough of Harrow. They must also not consume alcohol in a public place except for licensed venues in the borough.

Police say the order will help keep Harrow safer and create a more pleasant environment for everyone in the community.

Sgt Bolton, the local Sergeant, said: “My officers have worked diligently, compiling the best possible evidence. They professionally presented the evidence to the court which has resulted in this CBO. Residents of Belmont, Canons and Stanmore have a dedicated Safer Neighbourhoods Team working hard to drive down crime on their ward and the whole of Harrow when called upon.”

This is part of the Met’s new initiative, the Engage platform, which has now launched in Harrow. The platform allows residents to subscribe to updates about police activity, crime prevention advice and invitations to engagement events.

People who sign up will also be encouraged to share what matters most to them, helping police identify and address the crimes that affect residents the most.
