Community brunch returns to Harrow this month with free meals for those in need

Nando’s on Station Road in Harrow is teaming up with local nonprofit Carib & Co Brunch to offer free brunches for the elderly, vulnerable, and those in need — including the homeless — as part of a new community initiative.

The first event will be held on Saturday 19 July 2025 from 12pm to 2pm at Nando’s Harrow, 300-302 Station Road, HA1 2DX, while stocks last. The Mayor of Harrow, Cllr Anjana Patel, will also be attending and meeting members of the community.

As well as launching the initiative, the event will also mark the farewell of Charlotte, who has managed the Harrow branch for the past two years. She is moving on to open a new Nando’s in Central London on 5 July.

Harrow residents will continue to benefit from the brunches when the scheme officially restarts in September 2025 under new management. The initiative targets people from a wide range of backgrounds including those on low incomes, single parents, people with disabilities or mental health challenges, the unemployed, students, and those experiencing homelessness.

The partnership, which first began in March 2024 after funding from Harrow Council and Harrow Giving ended, has already helped many people in the borough. Over 300 meals were donated each week during its early phase.

Jade, Founder of Carib & Co Brunch, said: “Charities and non profit organisations need more funding and investment schemes for longer periods to support their future causes and projects like this one – supporting those in need with a complimentary meal during the cost of living. The funding process should not be difficult and should not be delayed where charities and non profit organisations have to create give back projects or sponsorships to keep up with the demands of the cost of living but it should be an easy process for those who already have a track record in Harrow.”

Jade also thanked Charlotte and Nando’s Harrow for supporting the brunches over the past year and a half, saying: “This has helped to bring awareness to our nonprofit organisation. We thank you for believing in us and our vision. Peace and Love to many more free fortnightly and/or weekly brunches like this for the future – September 2025 here we come!”

On her final day at the Harrow branch, Charlotte reflected on her time in the community:
“Saying goodbye to Harrow Station Road has been very hard, over the last 2 years the restaurant has moved leaps and bounds. We created a safe space for all and always made sure that everyone is welcome.”

She also shared her thoughts on the brunch project: “Working with Carib and Co has been an amazing venture. To see the difference we’re making in the local community and seeing the smiles we put on people’s faces has always been a great feeling. Having the freedom at Nando’s to always make a difference pushes me to do more for the people in need. I hope my future journey creates more relationships with more charities in need.”

The upcoming brunch event is free for both adults and children, but booking is required. To reserve a spot, visit Instagram and message @caribandcobrunch or click the link in their bio.
