A yellow weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued by the Met Office covering Harrow and much of southern England from 9:00pm on Friday (18 July) until 6:00pm on Saturday (19 July).
The warning, which includes the entire London area, means that heavy, thundery rain could cause disruption to transport and travel during the period. The Met Office has said there is a chance of:
- 20–30mm of rain in under an hour
- 60–90mm in less than three hours
- Frequent lightning, large hail, and gusty winds
The warning urges residents to be cautious and prepare for possible localised flooding and difficult driving conditions.
In a post on X (Twitter), the Met Office said: “Yellow weather warning issued. Thunderstorms across much of England Friday 2100 – Saturday 1800. Stay #WeatherAware”
People are advised to check the latest weather updates and plan journeys carefully.
