A Harrow primary school has launched a fundraising appeal to replace its minibus, which is no longer compliant with London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) regulations.
Norbury School, based on Welldon Crescent, is aiming to raise funds to purchase a new, ULEZ-compliant vehicle before the start of the next academic year in September.
The school said the minibus is “vital” in helping pupils access opportunities beyond the classroom, including regular Forest School sessions, sports fixtures, and educational trips.
In a statement, the school said: “Without it, many of these opportunities simply wouldn’t be possible.”

The appeal comes after recent changes to the ULEZ scheme, which was expanded to cover all London boroughs, including Harrow, last year. Vehicles that do not meet emissions standards face daily charges of £12.50, making continued use of older school transport financially unsustainable for many local institutions.
Norbury’s current vehicle falls foul of the ULEZ requirements, and the school is seeking community support to secure a replacement in time for the new school year.
“Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to our goal,” the school added.
