Stanmore Fire Station is inviting residents to its annual Open Day on Saturday 6 September, offering a behind-the-scenes look at one of the UK’s most vital emergency services.
Running from 11am to 4pm at 650 Honeypot Lane, the free event is open to all ages and will give visitors a chance to meet local firefighters, explore fire engines, and learn about the equipment used in emergency situations.
“We’re proud to serve Stanmore and we want people to feel they can come to us, not just in an emergency, but as part of their community,” said Station Officer Craig Eden. “This Open Day is a chance for people to meet the crew, see what we do, and ask us anything from fire safety to how the engines work. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone.”
The day will include a range of family-friendly activities and hands-on opportunities such as trying on firefighter gear, seeing rescue tools in action, and receiving practical fire safety advice from the crew.
No booking is needed – just turn up and enjoy the day.
The Open Day will take place from 11am to 4pm, at 650 Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, HA7 1JS.
