The Star pub in Harrow was buzzing last weekend as it played host to the launch of a brand-new event — R&B and Roast. Among the attendees were some well-known personalities, including Big Brother alum Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace, best remembered for her season alongside the late Nikki Grahame. Also spotted was Montana Thompson, known for her role as Justine Littlewood in CBBC’s Tracy Beaker series.
The event, which debuted on Sunday, brought a fresh twist to the traditional Sunday roast by taking it outdoors. Guests enjoyed food and cocktails on the decking area, surrounded by inflatable props and vibing to live DJs on rotation creating a unique blend of nostalgia and modern-day fun.
We caught up with the team behind the event, Collective Eventz, who explained that this pop-up is an extension of their popular nightlife offerings at The Star. Their past events have featured performances from notable UK acts including MC DT (“Do You Really Like It?”), MC Devine of 3 of a Kind (“Babycakes”), and more recently Gracious K, who performed Migraine Skank at the Collectives one-year anniversary at The Star in May.

Ashley, one of the faces behind the collective, shared his thoughts on the new concept: “I’ve lived in Harrow most of my life, and being able to create something that brings that early 2000s vibe back to the area is amazing. I’ve worked behind the scenes in music for years, building up a solid network of close friends. With R&B and Roast, I want to bring a real sense of FOMO. We’re planning to invite some very special guests throughout the series, so you never know who you might bump into between now and our final date in September.
“Ultimately, I want to deliver the energy of a central London night out — but at a fraction of the price, and right on our doorstep.”
Upcoming dates for R&B and Roast at The Star Pub, Harrow:
- Sunday 17th August
- Sunday 31st August
- Sunday 14th September
- Sunday 28th September
The event runs from 1pm–5pm with free entry, live DJs, roasts and cocktails available throughout the day.
You can find The Star at 2 South Hill Ave, South Harrow, HA2 0NQ.
