Wembley Park station recorded its busiest days of the year as Oasis returned to the stage in July, marking their huge comeback after 16 years.
Transport for London (TfL) confirmed that on the first three dates of the long-anticipated Oasis concerts (25, 26 and 30 July), more than 131,000 people entered and exited Wembley Park station. The numbers highlight the wave of nostalgia surrounding the reunion of one of the biggest indie rock bands of all time.
The station also handled around 130,000 entries and exits during Lana Del Rey’s two shows earlier in the month (3 and 4 July), reinforcing Wembley’s role as one of the capital’s biggest live music destinations.
Music tourism continues to play a major role in London’s economy. According to UK Music, 7.5 million people attended concerts and festivals in the capital last year, generating £2.7 billion. TfL says public transport plays a vital role in helping fans reach these events safely and sustainably.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “This summer is proving once again that London is the undisputed global capital of music, with our world-class public transport system helping millions of Londoners and visitors make the most of the action.”
Emma Strain, TfL’s Customer Director, added: “It’s been a blockbuster summer of concerts in London already with bands like Oasis returning and international acts like Stray Kids and Lana Del Rey taking to the stage. It’s wonderful to see this reflected in our ridership figures at many stations on our network and the economic benefit of world-class acts performing here will be felt in the capital and beyond.”
