A young fox trapped between two concrete fence posts in a Harrow back garden has been rescued by the RSPCA.
The animal was found on 16 July by a resident on Tregenna Avenue in South Harrow, who contacted the charity for help.
RSPCA Inspector Simon Hoggett, who responded to the call, said: “It appears the poor fox had tried to jump the fence and fallen, becoming trapped by his neck between the posts.
“He was completely unable to move and must have been extremely stressed. I managed to lift him free and release him safely. He was clearly exhausted. We advised the resident to leave food out for him and to contact us if he didn’t appear to recover.

“Thankfully, he bounced back well.”
The RSPCA said their specialist officers assist with rescues like this to ensure safety for both the animal and the public. In other cases, the public can help directly, such as when a hedgehog falls into a drain or a bird enters a home.
The charity advised not to handle sick or injured foxes and to keep a safe distance. More information is available at rspca.org.uk.
The incident comes as the RSPCA runs its Summer Cruelty Appeal. More details can be found at rspca.org.uk/endcruelty.
